Administrative FAQs
Medical Emergencies
In the event of a life-threatening medical emergency, call 911 immediately. DO NOT WAIT. Once you arrive at the emergency department, inform the staff that you are a patient of North Shore Gastroenterology so they may contact us as needed for coordinated care.
After-Hours Urgent Medical Needs
If you have an urgent medical need outside of regular office hours, call (440) 808-1212. Our answering service will contact the on-call physician, who is available 24 hours a day. Your call will be returned promptly.
Insurance / Payment / Billing
North Shore Gastroenterology accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and most major insurance plans. If you have questions about insurance coverage, please contact your insurance company or call our office at (440) 808-1212.
Co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles are due at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
If you have billing questions, please contact our billing specialists at (440) 808-1212 or fax documents to (440) 808-2060.
Referrals
If your insurance requires a referral from your primary care provider, please ensure the referral is received prior to your appointment. Appointments may need to be rescheduled if the referral is not on file at the time of your visit. Please coordinate with your primary care provider in advance.
Prescription Requests
Prescriptions and refills for established patients are issued during regular office hours. Please call (440) 808-1212 to request a refill.
Refills cannot be processed during evenings, weekends, or holidays, as providers may not have access to your medical chart. We encourage patients to anticipate refill needs to avoid interruptions in medication therapy.
