Liver Research
North Shore Gastroenterology is actively involved in advancing liver health through ongoing liver research, clinical trials, and partnerships with regional research organizations. Our team collaborates with the Clinical Research Institute of Ohio (CRIOH) to evaluate new therapies for metabolic liver disease, fatty liver disease, cirrhosis, and alcohol-associated liver conditions. Through these liver clinical trials in Northeast Ohio, eligible patients may gain early access to investigational treatments while contributing to scientific progress. All studies follow strict safety standards and are overseen by experienced hepatology specialists.
What Is a Clinical Trial?
Clinical trials are structured research studies where volunteers help evaluate new treatments, diagnostic tools, or medical approaches. These studies may offer access to therapies not yet available to the public and can sometimes include reimbursement for participation. While clinical trials are conducted with extensive oversight, investigational treatments may carry risks or side effects that are still being studied. Participants are closely monitored throughout the process to ensure safety and proper follow-up care.
