North Shore Gastroenterology is committed to advancing digestive health through ongoing clinical research in gastroenterology and liver disease. Our providers participate in studies that support early detection, improve treatment options, and expand access to emerging therapies for patients across Northeast Ohio. By combining clinical expertise with innovative research opportunities, we help bring evidence-based advancements directly into patient care while collaborating with trusted research partners in the region.
GI Research
Our gastroenterology research focuses on improving diagnostic accuracy and treatment outcomes for conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, Barrett’s esophagus, and gastrointestinal motility disorders.
Liver Research
North Shore Gastroenterology participates in research related to metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), steatohepatitis (MASH), alcohol-associated liver disease, and cirrhosis. Our team uses tools such as FibroScan and advanced laboratory testing to support early diagnosis and staging.

North Shore Gastroenterology partners with the Clinical Health Research Institute of Ohio (CHRIO) to provide access to additional clinical studies in GI and liver health. Research Team
Our research program continues to grow with the addition of new team members who support study coordination, patient enrollment, data collection, and clinical oversight.
